This has been entered as a bug. I don't remember the number off the top
of my head, but you can also reproduce the problem by telneting to the port
number that online is using for connections. My guess is that Satan must
attempt to connect to all ranges of port numbers for the machine trying to
get in. When it uses the online systems port number the listener thread
attempts to treat it as a new connection. For a new connection to be
established
we have a certain protocol of messages that come at certain times. Satan
obviously is sending something we don't handle very well. Ah, the
bug number is 77445 and it is fixed in 7.24.UC4 or 7.23.UC9 (or above).
