You have to choose if your database will be ANSI compliant or not, regarding the transaction management you want to deal with. If you want an implicit COMMIT after each statement, choose a Non ANSI database and do not use transaction statements. Otherwise, you can manage transactions on each database type (BEGIN and COMMIT or ROLLBACK delimiter statements for no ANSI database, only COMMIT and ROLLBACK statement on ANSI database -> implicit transaction in this case).
