Problem dropping table in SE
Posted in 2007

I have what appears to be a corrupted table in SE. bcheck just hangs
forever checking it. dbschema hangs when it hits that table. I tried
dropping the table, renaming it, they all hang. Is there a way I can
manually remove the table from systables, etc? Any other ideas. It
is a data warehouse and I have the data required to reload it, I just
don't have a way of getting rid of it.
TIA,
Tim

Found it. Seems a runaway update statistics was running :-(
I may be wrong - but you can probably just create a new table, then copy the
newly generated .idx and .dat over the original corrupt tables..
Make sure you backup your originals...
standard disclaimers etc...
