JDBC - ODBC - Informix: General Error. What could be wrong?

Hi, I'm not too familiar with db administration. I'm having a frustrating time with database programming. My Java program connects through JdbcOdbcDriver to access an Informix database server. I am using OpenLink Generic 32 bit ODBC Driver for Informix. All I am having is a few select statements and I'm pulling data from the Informix server. My program is able to connect through JdbcOdbc bridge and it is able to do a few selects before it fails. And the error message is one of the useless error messages I've ever seen. It simply says: "General Error" I have no clue what's going wrong! I know I must be doing something wrong but it works with MySQL without having any problems. Any suggestion is thankfully appreciated! Thank you, Srikanth

There are a lot of Informix- specific things that your generic ODBC or the bridge cannot handle, so even if they would work you would not be able to utilize the full Informix capabilities through them.
