Myschema and myexport bug
Posted in 2007
Just an alert. There is a minor bug in myschema which also affects
myexport. If you try to use the '-U statsfile' option of myschema to
write update statistics statements recreating the current state of
data distributions into a named file or the '-u' option of myexport it
will not work as required. The workaround is to paste the filename
contiguously to the -U option with an equal sign (=) with no spaces
surrounding it:
myschema -d mydb -U=mydb.stats.file.sql
If you are using myexport the same change has to be made there.
Otherwise, if you use myexport with -u and -m together the file
containing the CREATE TABLE statements will be overwritten with the
UPDATE STATISTICS commands making it so that you cannot restore theexport.
New releases of myexport and utils2_ak are being developed, but this
workaround is simple enough that it may be awhile so that I can fully
test other updates and include them as well.
