How do you remove an orphaned lock from systables? The process and session id has ended but I am unable to delete from the smi tables. Meanwhile the table has an intent-exclusive table lock. TIA Doug

What engine type and version? If IDS 7/8/9 you cannot have an orphaned lock. the engine cleans up locks, which are completely internal, when a session ends. Track that lock back to its owner and see, perhaps there is a partial transaction from that defunct session that is/was still rolling back. Some locks will persist until the rollback is complete.
