Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Renata asked whether Informix 7.2 has a function like Oracle's DECODE. Peter J Diaz de Leon thought DECODE arrived in 7.3x and suggested upgrading or checking IIUG for SPL equivalents. Uwe Weber confirmed DECODE is available in IDS 7.30. Don Hanson suggested the orclproc archive from IIUG, which holds Oracle-equivalent procedures. No 7.2 built-in was identified.

I believe the DECODE function became available in 7.3x.
You will need to upgrade.
You also might want to check the IIUG archives. I thought I saw
some SPL's that imlemented some of this missing functionality.

Try downloading the orclproc archive from IIUG. it contains a number of
oracle equiv. procedures.
