Hi all, We are testing our accounting system(writen in Informix 4gl, using Inform 7.23 database) on our SO unix system as a part of Yak testing. Since we are going to test it in different approach (AR, AP, GL), we made several copies of the live database in different directory ( /u/mis/DATA/AR, /u/mis/DATA/AP, /u/mis/DATA/GL). And I created the menu to change the $DBPATH. Now the problem is when updating a table in AR database using either SQL or the accounting application, the result affects not only in AR db, but also in AP, GL as well. And vice versa. They just change simultaneously. I "echo $DBPATH" from time to time, it's always right. I checked "mis.dbs" directory and it looks like no link files. I queried on "systables" and no link as well, except the "syslog" shared the same "dirpath" due to the direct copy. Since all three db move all together, I can not change it. I am wondering if it's the problem. Thanks in advance. Jimmy

It turned out to be a minor problem. The guy who copied the database used "cpio" with 'l" option, which link the database files rather than copying them. Thanks for your time.
