Re: logical logs full
Posted in 1998
Hi,
If you don't need the logical logs on tape, you can just set the
LTAPEDEV parameter to /dev/null. In that case, if the logical log is full
the server just marks it as backed up. You don't need to run any command
to back up or clear.
In your specific case, if the current log(i.e., last log) is full, then the
server uses the first log because it is backed up(see the flags U-B----
where 'B' is for back up).
Answers specifically to your questions.
1. Should I be worried, or is it ok ?
It's perfectly ok.
2. Is it that last one (now at 63%) fills up , will they all be reset to 0% ?
No. they will not be reset to 0%. But will be marked as backed up in flags.
3. How do I cleanup these logic. logs. ?
No need to cleanup.
4. How automatically setup so they get cleaned up themselves ?
Setting LTAPEDEV to /dev/null
