Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Dave, some actions you could take to reduce checkpoint (assuming everything
else is ok) time would be:
1. Reduce the value of CKPTINTVL (onconfig)
2. Reduce the value of LRU_MAX_DIRTY/LRU_MIN_DIRTY (lowest admissible values
are 2/1) (it may affect performance)
In order to determine a good value for LR_MAX/MIN, I suggest you to check
onstat -b before the checkpoint, so you can figure out a good pair. Alsocheck onstat -R
An excellent article on tuning is found at Informix TechNotes Vol. 8 Is. 3
1.998 by Art S. Kagel.
