Database replication is designed so you have a second machine as a backup to the first. Have you considered mirroring? This is where you define a 'primary' chunk (i.e. a normal chunk) and a 'mirror' chunk which is maintained as an EXACT copy of the #primary' chunk. Obviously the mirror chunk can be on a separate disk.... -- David Williams
