Informix on Linux and Archive restore problems

Hi, we use Informix IDS 7.30.UC7. Today we had a catstrophic failure and needed to get the last backup back via ontape -r. The restore started normally and after around 30 secs I received a message that an Interrupt was received and the restore stopped. We always had problems with longer transactions running via TCP. So I changed the Informixserver to use ipc instead of TCP. This usually resolves the problems when longer transactions are running on the server. The restore started and still runs painfully slow. But things seem to come back. Did anyone see that behaviour ? The config is Suse Linux 6.2 with Linux kernel 2.2.13 and glibc2.1.1.
