We were strapped for time to fix this sudden problem, so we had to remove the INCLUDE part of the form attributes and deal with what was allowed/disallowed for the field in the 4gl code itself. The field was originally designed to hold nulls 85% of the time, so this was a big problem for us. Unfortunately, we could find no way to get the form to handle it, so a 4gl fix was our last resort. Our inhouse Informix guru recommended that we never use INCLUDE in forms, preferring to keep that in the 4gl for better control per our coding standards, so eventually all INCLUDE statements were removed from the forms to avoid this problem and to keep our forms "clean". mel Melissa Lewis, Programmer/Analyst Data Systems Support 1228 Shelly Court Orange, CA 92668 (714) 771-0454 mlewis@dssmktg.UUCP Faith comes by Hearing the Word.
