4.0 / 4.1 forms

There were so many responses, I send to the net again: 4gl/form4gl ver 4.10.UD2 isql/sformbld ver 4.10.UD2 The application in question was originally compiled (4gl program and forms) using 4.0. Recently I made a modification and recompiled. This was the first compile of this app since we moved to 4.1. table: key serial fld1 ... fldn NULLS ALLOWED form attribute line in question: f00x = fld3, INCLUDE=("", " ", VAL1, VAL2, VAL3); compiled the form with form4gl and sofrmbld - no difference. doing a 'sperform' with the form, I can hit ESC immediately and add a row. using the SAME form from the 4gl program, I get stopped at this field with. This field requires an entered value There is NO CODE in the 4gl program to require entry of these fields. There are no entries in syscolval to force entry of any of the fields. I changed INFORMIXDIR and PATH to point back at 4gl/isql 4.00.UH2. dropped the objects and re-compiled. I can now run the app., press 'A' to add a row, and press [ESC] and get a created row. Therefore the difference is not in the form as I originally claimed, but in how 4gl deals with it. was I specfic enough? j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker - Contractor | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| I've forgotten more than jparker@hpbs2561.boi.hp.com | I ever knew (208) 323-5388 (W) (208) 384-1623 (H) | _____________________________________________________________________________
