It means that there is an error with the servicename and the protocol which is specified. We are working with SE 7.21 and NFS and started the demon with: sqlexecd saturn_se in the $INFORMIXDIR/LIB directory. We set the following entry in the /etc/services file: informixse 4072/tcp the servicename matches the entry in the sqlhosts file: saturn_se sesoctcp polaris informixse An entry for the host computer exists in the /etc/hosts file. We are using NFS mounted directories. How can we solve the problem? And how can we start sqlexecd without errors in an NFS mounted (or not) directory? Thank you for answer. -- gsar@lkn.e-technik.tu-muenchen.de Georgios Sarakatsanis Technische Universitaet Muenchen Lehrstuhl fuer Kommunikationsnetze --------------802FCCA2BBBB8617E228EA9F Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name="vcard.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: Card for Georgios Sarakatsanis Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="vcard.vcf" begin: vcard fn: Georgios Sarakatsanis n: ;Georgios Sarakatsanis email;internet: gsar@lkn.e-technik.tu-muenchen.de x-mozilla-cpt: ;2 x-mozilla-html: FALSE version: 2.1 end: vcard --------------802FCCA2BBBB8617E228EA9F--
