Display Label length limitation

Is there a length limitation for the so-called "display labels" in an Informix SQL query? For example: select client_nm name_of_client from client order by client_nm; What is the limitation of the display label after the column name, "name_of_client" in this case? Is it documented anywhere? We're using IDS 7.31.UC4/x86 (don't ask). TIA

The answer should be 128 if you upgrade to 9.20...I haven't verified that. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
I think it's still 18, or at least that what it appears to be in 9.20.UC2 Jonathan Leffler wrote: > > Red Valsen wrote: > > > > Is there a length limitation for the so-called "display labels" in an > > Informix SQL query? Not on my Solaris 7 machine running IDS.2000 version 9.20.UC2:
select tabidimpossibly_long_display_label_to_test_the_obtuseness_of_r_and_d from
systables where tabid = 1;
This worked fine for me (but I was using SQLCMD, of course). What did
you get?
