Hi, I installed Informix WS on NT-Workstation 4(SP 4). Before the installation process ends the program hangs in the initialization of the disk storage. I reinstalled it and the same problem appeared. Does anyone know how to make a manual disk storage initialization. The start up of the informix WS service with parameter -iy don't work. Thanks, Theo
Hi, manual installation with option -iy should work. Maybe there are no files for Your primary chunk of rootdbs. Take a look in Your ONCONFIG and create empty files for the two chunks, or without mirroring one chunk, using TYPE NIL > "filename". I've done this several times an it works fine. Try this "starts [NT_Informix_service_name] -iy" from the command prompt. BTW, is your Informix compliant with SP 4 ? -- With best regards, Yuri Dovgart, SAP R/3, Informix consultant, "Telecominvest" company.
