RE: Cannot load translation dll error
Posted in 2000
In the Environment tab of the DSN Setup window, add the following to the Translation Library field: %INFORMIXDIR%\\bin\\igo4n304.dll where %INFORMIXDIR% is the actual path to the folder you installed the SDK. I'm using 2.40 (driver version 3.31). In my case I have it installed in C:\\Program Files\\Informix so my setting is: C:\\Progra~1\\Informix\\bin\\igo4n304.dll Notice that C:\\Program Files\\Informix has been entered as C:\\Progra~1\\Informix. Embedded spaces and double quotes are not allowed (I tried). If you smartly allowed it to install in the default C:\\Informix then you won't have to worry about embedded spaces and converted folder names like I did. Btw, this is in the ODBC Driver Programmer's Manual Version 3.3. Ilogin has no problem connecting to the server. However, using the Test Connection command on the ODBC System DSN setup applet produced the following result: <Cannot load <informix><informix ODBC> translation dll> Is there something wrong or did I have to do something else? I have read through the help file but can't find anything that is helpful. Can somebody please help? Thanks!
