Bcheck (are you really using SE?) or oncheck will perform various checks on the index first; if
it finds problems, it wil optionally "repair" the index. It does this by dropping and recreating
the index.
The "merit" of using bcheck/oncheck is that you know for sure your index was bad before being
rebuilt. There is no performance advantage.
