Re: An Oracle question
Posted in 2000
Light-hearted exchange in an 'An Oracle question' thread. Obnoxio The Clown joked with Oracle DBA Nikita, who said he was only poking fun. mars1972 objected to Informix bashing, and Nikita apologised and said Oracle is in demand. No technical question or answer.

:-). Hey, at least you understand I was just poking fun here. (altho my statements are for the most part true). Yes, and I'm really sorry about that...and I won't do it again :-( I am fortunate enough to have good job opportunities as an Oracle DBA where I am, but also realize that could change really fast...it's why I try to at least understand how "the others" work but focus on thoroughly knowing what's in demand for now. I understand in some ways where you guys are coming from. Larry is one mean SOB, and has a real "nice" reputation ... hehehe. But, in all honesty one doesn't make it in this business by being a nice guy, and unfortunately that's the way it is. Of course one doesn't always make it in this business by having a great product either (which I do believe Oracle has a really good product, compared to most of what's out there) On his behalf tho, at least Larry didn't "steal" a product like MicroSoft did with SQL Server. (uh, Sybase) :-)) mars1972@my-deja.com wrote: > In article <390F0022.93730E81@yahoo.com>, > Nikita <Nikita@yahoo.com> wrote: > > :-). > > Hey, at least you understand I was just poking fun here.
