RE: Why you can't trust IBM when it comes to committing to Informix.

Jerry, Unfortunately not. I'm a consultant. When I don't work, I don't get paid. So taking time off to go to a conference has a "double whammy" effect. The cost of the conference and travel, and the loss of wages. Now sure, my company (me) can write off the trip as an expense, but I've got a wife who's doing a fine job of making expenses for our company. ;-) IBM knows where to find me. My client moved from the Merchandise Mart in to a building which is only a couple of blocks away from IBM's downtown office. There's no reason why IBM's top execs couldn't make a visit to two of their big clients in Chicago (Hyatt and Sears) and make a side trip to see little ol' me. If they were so inclined. But hey! What do I know? I'm just having fun helping to making the world safe from people who trust their nav systems so much that they drive in to lakes/ponds/etc ... ;-) -G > Date: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 05:49:20 -0700> From: bigdaddyjerry@yahoo.com> Subject: RE: Why you can't trust IBM when it comes to committing to Informix.> To: im_gumby@hotmail.com; informix-list@iiug.org> > Gumby,> > Are you bringing all these thoughts and ideas with you> to the conference next month? > > Thanks,> > Jerry> > --- Ian Michael Gumby <im_gumby@hotmail.com> wrote:> > > > > > > > > > From: indeep@indeep.com> > > Subject: Re: Why you can't trust IBM when it comes> > to committing to Informix.> > > Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2008 07:22:16 -0700> > > To: informix-list@iiug.org> > > > > > I'm not sure of how Solid fits into the big> > picture, but I> > > saw this article and found it interesting.> > > > > >> >> http://weblog.infoworld.com/enterprisemac/archives/2008/03/iphone_20_safar.html> > > > > > This platform is the next big thing right now, but> > there will be> > > others.
