Hi,
Does anybody have any experience of IDS2000 crashes on a HP N4000 platform
running HP/UX 11.00 (September 1999 patches)?
During testing we have experienced numerous Informix crashes all with the
same message as follows :
08:55:08 Assert Failed: No Exception Handler
08:55:08 Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.20.FC2
08:55:08 Who: Session(356, tm_gbens@archer, 12696, 689688488)
Thread(365, sqlexec, c000000029182408, 1)
File: mtex.c Line: 458
08:55:08 Results: Exception Caught. Type: MT_EX_OS, Context: mem
08:55:08 Action: Please notify Informix Technical Support.
08:55:08 stack trace for pid 6938 written to /tmp/af.5555b6b
08:55:08 See Also: /tmp/af.5555b6b, shmem.5555b6b.0

08:55:17 The Master Daemon Died
08:55:17 PANIC: Attempting to bring system down
Informix support are looking into this for us but would be interested if
anybody else had experienced the same ?
We are running :
INFORMIX-SQL Version 7.30.HC1
INFORMIX-ESQL Version 9.30.HC1
INFORMIX-4GL Version 7.30.HC1
Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.20.FC2

Hello,
What I would suggest you is that to turn off Kernel Asynchronous
I/O if you are using it. Check your release notes whether it is
enabled by default. And if you wish to turn it off, there should
be an environment variable like KAIO_OFF or something, set it to
1 and start your engine. Check your release notes for exact name
of the variable and proper usage. If this solves your issue and
still you are insistent on using KAIO I guess you have to wait
until Informix fixes it. Hope it helps.

Have you gotten a resolution on this? I am having the same proble. Here is
what I get. I am thinking that there may be a correlation with the NUMCPUVPS.
Let me know what you have found.
I received the following error on IDS2000 FC1. This is a 4 processor machine
w/ 1 gig ram. I had NUMCPUVPS set to 4. I am also getting the same error on a
2 processor machine. Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this?
