Stupid SQL Output to Filename Bug

Ok, we've got a Sequent Symmetry running Dynix V 3.0.17.9 and Informix On-Line V 4.00.UD3. Running isql interactively, <output to FILENAME> puts the output in a file called fILENAME . This is ridiculous. Even worse, <output to PHILENAME> puts the output in a file called phILENAME . It has nothing to do with length of filename. It seems that an initial capital letter is lowercased but an initial capital PH is lowercased to ph. Bring up the SQL editor again, and the filename is changed in the query itself. The case of the filename is preserved when surrounding with single or double quotes. In a shell script, doing: isql -s mydb -<<EnD output to FNORD select whatever; EnD puts the output in fNORD. BTW doing unload instead of output preserves the filename as written. Anybody else notice this? Is this a FAQ? I know Informix is case-insensitive but changing your output filename on a UNIX system is stoopid. -Mike -- | o==== . : ... : : . |Mail Me Neat Stuff->POB 3703 Arlington VA 22203 --@-- . o o o ...
