RE: Installation of IDS 11.50 on Windows 2003 Doma

Hi i am having problems installing informix on my domain controller. I already have a working server using informix IDS 9.30 installed on Windows 200 server which is not a domain controller. I am attempting to install 11.50 on W2k3 Domain controller and migrate my data from original server onto new server. I cannot however get the instance to start. I already have user informix and group informix-admin created on active directory. because the server is domain controller their are no local accounts etc. the service when started simply shuts down straight away. I did a test of installing on my vista laptop by doing local install and creating user informix and group informix admin locally and that seems to work fine. Any help would be appreciated. Hi, If you aready have user informix created then you may have missed creating some of the advanced user rights it needs. For a domain installation the domain informix user needs to be a member of Informix-Admin and Administrators. It needs the following advanced user rights: SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivilege - Replace a Process Level Token SeDebugPrivilege - Debug programs SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege - Increase Quotas SeSecurityPrivilege - Manage Auditing and Security Log SeServiceLogonRight - Log on as a Service SeTcbPrivilege - Act as Part of the Operating System Make sure it has these and install again. Or easier might be to uninstall IDS, delete the informix account and Informix-Admin group and install again.
