Stability of 7.3 on SMP Linux

Hi! I posted a question regarding ontape problem in this newsgroup. Peter Eckhardt answered that this and several others issues (locking problems) could be/ are related to IDS 7.3 stability problems on SMP Linux kernels. I know, that IDS 7.3 Linux ed. does not support SMP on Linux but I didn't know that there are stability problems. Does anybody else have some more information on this question? Are those stability problems limited only to SMP kernels? Thanx, Damijan
