Isaac,
First of all, please DO NOT POST HTML!!!!

Second, I don't have a solution for your immediate problem (onbar -l), but I
would suggest that you look into using HDR (High-availability Data
Replication) to address your overall problem. Look at the two chapters on
"High Availability" in the Admin Guide for info on HDR.

Subject: How do I forward logs to other server. "No Storage spaces" error
Hi colleagues,
I am trying to restore a database to another machine, and roll logical logs
forward.
We have IDS 9.30.FC3, HPUX11.0 DataProtector5.0. I have added Informix
patch PHSS_28737.
Every night we close the application, and take a business copy of the disks
to another VA7400. This copy can be seen by the other Server (B).
As a result, the disk layout is identical.
We can start the database on the other machine ( oninit ) but it only has
1am data.
We wish to roll forward logs generated later on server A ( which we keep on
tape ) to Server B.
Why do I get the message "There are no storage spaces/logical logs to
backup/restore" below ?
I have also tried onbar -r -l, onbar -r -l -n 246, onbar -r, onbar -p then
onbar -l.
( I have RTFM, and searched iiug, hp.com and comp.database.informix to know
avail )
serverB:730:/informix.930/etc># onbar -r -w
2003-10-15 14:16:51 8975 8973 /home/informix.930/bin/onbar_d -r -w
2003-10-15 14:16:52 8975 8973 Successfully connected to Storage Manager.
2003-10-15 14:16:57 8975 8973 Begin salvage for log 246.
2003-10-15 14:17:00 8975 8973 Completed salvage of logical log 246.
2003-10-15 14:17:00 8975 8973 There are no storage spaces/logical logs to
backup/restore.
2003-10-15 14:17:05 8975 8973 Due to the previous error, logical restore
will not be attempted.
Thanks,
Isaac.

Looks like you have no emergency boot file for your instance at the second server.
look for $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ixbar.<SERVERNUM>
copy this from Server A to Server B and onbar will find logical logs to restore.
