onbar -l hangs

I am trying to do a level 0 backup to get around the fact that all my
logical logs are full, after issuing the onbar -l command, my log file
suggets that the backup for logical log 1 has started, but then nothing
else happens... it just seems to hang.
I am running IDS 7.3 on NT - any ideas ???

onbar requires configuration of the Storage Manager. Have you done that?
If not, onbar will wait forever (in the hope that the SM will ultimately
wake up, I suppose). This could be your problem.
Use ontape to resolve your immediate problem - configure LTAPEDEV to point
to /dev/null, then run ontape -a or ontape -c

The nice thing about Windows is - It does not just crash, it displays a
dialog box and lets you press 'OK' first.
