But that won't create the above error message. The likely cause of the "no runtime found" message is that INFORMIXDIR is mis-set, or the executable you are running does not correspond to INFORMIXDIR (e.g. PATH is mis-set). >Would it be possible to get some sort of updated table showing >compatibilities, since I cannot find out where exactly the cutoff is >(IE: Where is the compatibility cutoff between 4.01, 4.1, 4.11, 4.12, >4.13 and engines 5,6 and 7 ?) Well, in general, 4.0x tools and 4.xx servers are old and are limited in terms of support, 4.1x tools will work with 4.1x or 5.xx servers (or with 6.xx or 7.1x servers through the Relay Module), and 6.0x tools work with 6.xx or 7.1x servers. HOWEVER, you may not intermix tools within an INFORMIXDIR unless they are of the exact same version. Ditto for tools. (In other words, don't install 4.13 RDS with 4.11 C4GL in the same INFORMIXDIR). -- Alan Denney aland@informix.com yosemite@netcom.com Kia toa, e nga Mango!
