Some time ago there was a fairly lengthy thread in this forum on month arithmetic. It dealt with all sorts of hard issues like: what does "Jan 30 + 1 month" mean? As it turns out, Informix does not directly support month arithmetic, probably because day arithmetic is much less ambiguous and does most of what you want. I believe Cathy Kipp of Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital has written her own month arithmetic routines in 4GL.
