move chunks & dbspaces

Folks, I have an instance which uses links for chunk devices. Unfortunately the links have physical names, defeating the purpose of the links (e.g. a device is named "disk1part5"). Thus I would like to either change the name of the link/device or move the chunks to newly created devices (which would be named more conveniently). Thus, 1) how might I rename a chunk? 2) how would you physically move a chunk if it had no link. In answer to the 2nd question, I would like to know how it would be done without just copying the data to another device and making a link named after the old device, but pointing to the new. (That means keeping the old name around as a link, and in my situation, the old name is what I'm trying to obliterate). Thank you all. David Grove
I think your only realistic option involves moving the data the old fashioned way. That is, define a new dbspace, move the data to the new dbspace, drop the old dbspace. Or, if possible, rebuild the entire instance. I don't think there's an easy way to do what you want to do.
