Can anyone tell me how much contiguous memory Solaris will allow Informix to use ? (Solaris 8, IDS 7.31 FD3) I remember a couple of years ago, working on AIX there was a limit on the memory usage, and memory in Unix would be split, which impacted on performance. Is this also the case in Solaris, what is the limit and are there any fixes like AIX had ? (they had a parameter that could be set to use more memory). Somewhere around 4TB, IIRC. > I remember a couple of years ago, working on AIX there was a limit on > the memory usage, and memory in Unix would be split, which impacted on > performance. > > Is this also the case in Solaris, what is the limit and are there any > fixes like AIX had ? Your kernel may just need boosting to allow access to more shared memory. -- "C'est pas parce qu'on n'a rien ''' dire qu'il faut fermer sa gueule" - Coluche
