IDS 11.70 dbaccess generates Illegal character msg
Posted in 2017

Greetings,
We are experiencing an issue in our environment periodically where dbaccess
generates a SQL -34389 "Illegal character has been found in the input string"
error.
This does not occur regularly but occurs every once in a while when invoking
vi through dbaccess. We are running Informix version 11.70.FC7GE on RHEL 6.
You lose any text typed into the editor when this occurs.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or has insight into the cause?
Thanks,
Bob
Bob,
I have never seen this before, a little info might offer a clue.
What is the value of $CLIENT_LOCALE
What is the output of locale
What do you get from :set fileencoding when you invoke vi this way
