Not on the same machine? Onstat only works if you are on the same
machine as the server.

Given that you're on Win2K (and I'll omit snide comments that the
problem might simply be the platform you're running on), then you might
run into trouble if you need extra privileges to access the shared
memory (run onstat), or it may still be a variant of 'not on the same
machine' whereby the Informix environment is set to the wrong
INFORMIXDIR, or ONCONFIG, or something along those lines. I'd have
given Barry's answer if he hadn't already done so.
