Hi all, I have a couple of tables with 20 extents, does it hurt the performance of my database if i need to search those tables very often??? I read an article that extent number for a table should be kept 8 or below, is that ture??? What can i do?? drop the table with a bigger extent size?? is this the only way to do it??? Thanks Franklin
hi, I think 20 extents might be ok, but please calculate what size your table might have in a few weaks, month. So check and change the next extent size for these tables. If you like to put these extent together, unload table, drop table, create table, load table with correct first and next extent sizes. The better way is, unload whole database, drop dbspaces, create dbspaces, create database, check next extent size of system tables, load database with correct first and next extent sizes. cu sven -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: FRANKLIN TANG [mailto:franklin@macauslot.com] Gesendet: Montag, 27.
