It looks possibly like your root dbspace is not big enough. When
initialising the engine there must be room in space for all logs,
physdbs, buffers, locks etc.
Try reducing logs and physdbs as a starter.

Not a memory problem to start with.
Check the number and size of your logical logs, and the size of your physical
log: you are trying to allocate more stuff in the root dbspace than you have
space available.

HI,
It looks like you have too many logs requested (look at the LOGFILES
parameter). You should lower this parameter or lower the value for the
LOGSIZE parameter just to start your engine. After runnning oninit -iy
successfully, you could add more logs later and prefferably in a separate
dbspace dedicated for logs.
My advice is to start with a very small number of logs since you will
transfer them to another dbspace later. It saves you the time to drop them
from the rootdbs and have to add them to another dbspace anyway.
It could also be a large physical log (PHYSFILE) that is causing the
problem. In this case, lower this value just to start the engine and
increase it afterwards when you transfer this physical log to another
dbspace.
