What Excel-Informix-net driver are you talking about? : Can we extend this further to say Clipper 5.0 : programs. I heard that you could provided that the pc database is OBDC : compliant. Anyone done this?? You need three things: 1) A database backend running on your PC or the network driver for your database (e.g. Informix-Net/PC) 2) An ODBC driver for your database 3) An ODBC-compliant windows application 1 and 2 are available for Informix. ODBC-compliant windows apps are still rare. The only one I know of so far is MS-Access, but many more are in the pipeline. Excel and Word for Windows will be in their next releases, due out in the next months. Since Clipper 5.0 is NOT a windows application, it cannot use ODBC. You can, however, access dBase-compatible database files via an ODBC driver.
