Further, 4.12 I4GL is most unlikely to recognize such 5.00 syntax. And, in fact, neither is 6.00 I4GL, though that's because it is boot-strapped off 4.12 source and has the minimum necessary changes to support the 6.00 engines without having to go via a relay module -- this should change with a maintenance release of 6.00 I4GL. To get 5.00 (or later) functionality out of 4.1x I4GL, you must use PREPARE and either EXECUTE (as in this case) or DECLARE/OPEN/FETCH/CLOSE (eg for a cursory stored procedure).
