Hello All, I am having a strange problem while making a connection with one out of two database instances using TCP connection. Setting of both db instances are identical; but on the newly created instance, I am unable to make connection using tcp service or any JDBC client-side tool or application. I am running the IDS 11.70 FC4 on AIX server. I was running an instance on this server and all the users can make connections to that database instance. But, Now, As I have build a new instance on this machine, the same users which were able to connect to the old instance cannot make successful connections using TCP service/port on the newly created instance. It is giving me following error: -951 : user (---)'s password is not correct for the database server Using the same user, I can make connection on the other instance on same server. I have checked all the settings in the services, sqlhosts and onconfig files, and have not found any discrepency. I need urgent support on this. Thanks. Regards, Omer
Please post the sqlhosts entries for both servers, the DBSERVERNAME, DBALIASES, and SERVERNUM entries from both server's ONCONFIG files, and the JDBC connection strings you are trying to use in the client.
