908 connect error with Linux

I am getting a 908 connect error when I try to connect to a Linux
box using IIF2000 either with I-connect from a PC or dbaccess from my
SCO unix. I can ping from all directions with no errors and I can use
dbaccess to connect to the Unix box from IIF2000 with no errors but not
the other direction. I have made sure that the SQLHOSTS are the same on
all boxes except for the protocal which is "ontlitcp" on the SCO and
"onsoctcp" on IIF2000. Also, the HOSTS and SERVICES are the same on each
box (at least on the UNIX and Linux).
By the way, I am running IDS 7.31.UC2 on the SCO Unix and the version of
IIF2000 is 9.20.UC1 and I have made sure that each box is trusted on the
other (ie. hosts.equiv).
Any help who be greatly appreciated.

For those of you whom might get this error, I had the host name in both
the localhost and the actual ip in hosts file by mistake. I took it out
of the localhost and it started working.
