Mike Wild guess here, but perhaps the indexes are sitting on an area of disk which is bad. Try dropping the index and see if you get the same error. If you dont rerun the DELETE without indexes. In any case, as ISAM -172 says, perhaps you would need to contact Tech Support. Dont know if will help. It may even be wildly off the mark. We perform all the oncheck's identified in the online.log and this fixes the indexes it says are bad. Re-run the scripts and they fall over again after 20 deletes of a (DELETE FROM titles WHERE 1=1) This is extremely urgent and I have taken the database offline until I can resolve this so if anyone can point me in a direction I would be most gratefule Regards Mike
