Linux kernel 2.2.3

I tried to use Client SDK 2.10 on SuSE Linux with kernel 2.2.3 but it failed, the probable cause is the system limit for file descriptors (needs 4096 for select() system call). I didn't find any patch for 2.2 kernel and I have also read somewhere that this limit is configurable, however I could not find any way to configure it. Does anyone know a way to use the 2.2 kernel? (Yes I have looked into the Informix-Linux FAQ). --Micha

Why do you think that? What specific error(s) did you get? Client doesn't need many file descriptors at all.
