Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Usha M Rao asked whether constants can be defined in Informix stored procedure language. Dennis Pimple said no, if constants means variables that cannot be changed after being set. Chetan Anand suggested a #define style with the SPL run through the C preprocessor. Paul Watson agreed there are none, mentioning lookup tables or pre-processing, but said it was usually not worth the hassle.

If you mean variables that, once set, can't be changed, no.

INFORMIX donot allow CONSTANTS like 'C' or Java. But you get work around
through #define style and parsing your SPL through CPP.

No, you can use lookup tables, pre-process the SPL etc but it's not
usually worth the hassle
