RE: migration DB without stop ids server or else

You can migrate very quickly from 7.3 to 9.4. without unloading data. If you are using replication I would suggest dropping it completly first and creating it from scratch afterwards starting 9.4. 9.4 can be set up first while 7.3 is still running and then just turn 7.3 off and 9.4 on. Plus a few minor steps. The 9.4 migration manual gives full details Colin Bull (at present waiting for the doctor to tend to the bites in my bum ) c.bull@videonetworks.com > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-informix-list@iiug.org > [mailto:owner-informix-list@iiug.org]On Behalf Of roger huang > Sent: 28 November 2003 10:20 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: migration DB without stop ids server or else > > > hi, > I like to migrate HP ids7.3 to AIX ids9.4. > I hope that I can migrate to AIX without stopping HP server, or just > for a few hours.
