Hi, I need to move a database from one dbspace to another. As a systems operator I am not very familiar with the databse-tools: what is the best thing to do? I have IDS 7.3 running on a HP/UX 11.x. Thanks. Ben DE PAUW (sysadmin)
Export the database. dbexport dbname
Drop the database.
Import the database into the dbspace you want. dbimport dbname -d
dbspacename -l buffered ( Use buffered only if you want buffered
logging )

Ben,
Maybe I provide some solutions to you.
(1) dbexport the whole database, rename the old one and using dbimport
to load the database in another dbspace.
(2) move all tables in the database to another dbspace but the db
system information still remain on the old dbspace.

Before you buy.
Hi,
Thanks to all of you.
I used dbexport into a directory, dropped the db and performed a
dbimport ... -d <dbspace> dbname
this did just what I needed.
