Yes, the view is quite nice from up here :-). Haven't posted this in a while. I guess I should really set up a crontab entry for it. Look for Dave Snyder's goodies in the subdirectory "das13". Good Luck, Walt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anonymous FTP Archive for Informix Files An archive of Informix-related files and selected past messages from the Informix mailing list and the Usenet newsgroup comp.databases.informix is available for anonymous FTP. The kind folks at mathcs.emory.edu have allocated a segment of their ~ftp for the archive. The system's full domain-style name is emory.mathcs.emory.edu, and its IP address is 128.140.2.1. Note that this is not the same system as the home of the Informix mailing list. If you've never used anonymous ftp, here is a quick primer, in the form of a sample session, with comments in {}. Lines where you type something are marked with "<<<": % ftp mathcs.emory.edu {or: ftp 128.140.2.1} <<< Connected to mathcs.emory.edu. 220 emory FTP server (SunOS 4.1) ready. The archive is currently organized into the following sub-directories located in ~ftp/pub/informix: das13 A duplicate of selected portions of the archive maintained on das13.snide.com. See the file das13/Help or send mail with a subject of "help" (w/o quotes) to archive-server@das13.snide.com. doc General documentation files. list Selected past messages from the Informix mailing list, including articles gatewayed from Usenet comp.databases.informix. pub Informix-related source code, utilities and other files. The file ~ftp/pub/informix/ls-lR is an ASCII file that contains a full listing of the entire archive in a slightly modified "ls -lR" format. To keep this file small, individual mailing list message files are not listed. Instead, monthly file and character counts are reported. If you plan to be retrieving many files at one time, please try to do so during off-hours. mathcs.emory.edu is located in the Eastern time zone of the USA. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Walt Hultgren Internet: walt@rmy.emory.edu (IP 128.140.8.1) Emory University UUCP: {...,gatech,rutgers,uunet}!emory!rmy!walt 954 Gatewood Road, NE BITNET: walt@EMORY Atlanta, GA 30329 USA Voice: +1 404 727 0648
