Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We are running Pyramid MIS Informix port 4.10.UE1. When computing DATE
values in 4gl reports there is a problem when the resultant value goes
out of range. The following routine shows the problem.
MAIN
DEFINE in_date DATE
DEFINE r_date DATE
LET in_date = "10/31/92"
LET r_date = in_date - 1 UNITS MONTH;
DISPLAY "in_date: ", in_date
DISPLAY "r_date: ", r_date
END MAIN
This produces the following output:
FORMS statement error number -1267.
The result of a datetime computation is out of range.
in_date: 10/31/1992
r_date:
The problem is that r_date would contain 09/31/1992, but that date
does not exist and is loaded with blanks. I would expect that if
this date is invalid the result (r_date) should contain the next
prior date (09/30/92).
Is there an appropriate workaround for this problem?
