Informix ESQL/C provides the ability for an application to create one or more connections to database servers using GetConnect(), SetConnect(), ReleaseConnect() My question is "do databases and transactions retain their state in each of the connections when switching between the connections?" ie) connect1 = GetConnect(); EXEC SQL DATABASE "db1"; EXEC SQL BEGIN WORK; // Transaction 1 ... connect2 = GetConnect(); EXEC SQL DATABASE "db2"; EXEC SQL BEGIN WORK; // Transaction 2 ... EXEC SQL COMMIT WORK; // Transaction 2 ReleaseConnect( connect2 ); SetConnect( connect1 ); ... // continue working in the transaction from '*' above EXEC SQL COMMIT WORK; // Transaction 1 In this example, when I set the transaction back to 'connect1', is the state of Transaction 1 the same as before the call to 'connect2 = GetConnect()' ???
