How can I do a case insesitive search? Or can I.. Please email responses.. Thank Bryan -- ----------------------------------------------------------- Bryan Sapot bsapot@lawless-tech.com Lawless Technology "Get a life get Linux"
Which engine? With >= 7.30 there are built-in functions upper and lower. Prior to 7.30 you have to write a stored procedure -- and it is a real dog. There is probably one posted on the IIUG site, and I have a copy of one that was posted here around a year ago. If you want it I can email. You cannot really. With IDS 7.3x there is the UPPER and LOWER functions but a filter using these cannot use any indexes. The best solution is to add a column containing UPPER(lookup_column) to the table or to another table with the same keys you can then join back to filter. Art S. All true, although I'd quibble that perhaps the "best" solution is to get IUS (or whatever it's called now) and create an index on UPPER (lookup_column). I would add 'Please do not send spam to this account' but I suppose I would be wasting my bits. Art S. Kagel wrote: > You cannot really.
