RE: Oracle and IBM -- Grudge Match
Posted in 2010
The real embarassing part is that IDS will smoke them both. Which is why IBM won't do an IDS benchmark. ;-) (Aww now the secret is out. IBM doesn't want to start an internal war. ;-) Of course Oracle is now on an 'appliance'. DB2? Not there, nor is IDS. Maybe Jerry can get IBM to put IDS on the appliance instead of DB2... ;-) But hey! What do I know? My head is in the clouds. ;-) -G > From: jwcarlson1@yahoo.com.invalid > Subject: Oracle and IBM -- Grudge Match > Date: Sat, 30 Jan 2010 21:24:25 -0500 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Didn't see that anyone posted this in the newsgroup. > > http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Data-Storage/IBM-Snaps-Back-with-Response-to-Ellisons-Ignorant-Remarks-about-DB2-758156/ > http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9149883/Database_wars_IBM_Oracle_s_Ellison_trade_zingers > > > Should I not be surprised?
