backup doubt

I want to make a backup my data using onbar. But
I dont want to backup the logical logs.
If I set the LOG_BACKUP_MODE parameter to NONE,
I cant backup my data. I got the following message:
ERROR: Unable to create a session: The backup manager cannot do any
backups or restores while LOG_BACKUP_MODE is set to NONE. Change this
setting in your onconfig file to MANUAL or CONT and retry
If I set the parameter, the logical logs will be backed up.
How can I achieve what I want? I am using IDS w/ AD 8.21.UD1.
Thanks in advance.

Before you buy.
What is the problem with backing up the logical logs? You can always refuse
to apply them when you restore.
If you don't want transaction data logged, why not just turn off logging?

You got the point. But there are a few questions.
- Backing up the logs has impact on the performance. So it would be
interesting avoiding it.
- The sysmater database is logged and cannot be changed.
- If I set the LOG_BACKUP_MODE parameter to NONE, I can't backup my
data.
Conclusion: the logical log backup must be done anyway.
Besides, I am using IDS 8.21 and it doesn't support database logging
change. I must unload, recreate and reload all the data. This database
has about 100 GB and this task will be tough.

MINOR REALLY MINOR impact. We started saving the logs two years ago and I
will NEVER go back. Also DO NOT turn off logging at the database level,
you will have to manually rebuild multiple indexes everytime the system
crashes or the admins or operators decide to drag it down abnormally. Used
to lose many hours of sleep before turning logging on 3-1/2 years ago.

Just backup the logs it really is cost free.
